Rise Above It – Volume 2: Rising Above the Spirit of Fear
By Pinnacle Message
“Faith takes flight where fear loses grip.”
Introduction
Fear is a silent thief. It steals confidence, peace, purpose, and even divine assignments. It whispers lies louder than truth and magnifies problems bigger than God’s promises. But every believer is called to rise above the spirit of fear—not just suppress it, but overcome it by the power of the Holy Spirit. This volume will break chains, stir courage, and ignite a fire to walk in boldness, not bondage.
1. 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear…”
Narration: Paul is writing to young Timothy, who may have felt overwhelmed in his ministry role.
Exposition: Fear is not from God—it is a foreign spirit, a spiritual invader.
Interpretation: If fear didn’t come from God, then it doesn’t belong in you. He gave you power, love, and a sound mind.
Motivation: Start rejecting fear not as an emotion—but as an intruder. You have divine authority to evict it.
2. Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you…”
Narration: God comforts Israel in exile with His abiding presence.
Exposition: Fear shrinks when God's presence is magnified.
Interpretation: You’re not alone in the fire, the courtroom, the hospital, or the storm.
Motivation: God’s presence is the antidote to fear. Speak it. Believe it. Walk in it.
3. Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong and of good courage…”
Narration: Joshua stands at the edge of leadership, replacing Moses.
Exposition: Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s obedience in spite of it.
Interpretation: God tells Joshua three times: "Do not fear." Repetition means importance.
Motivation: Don’t let fear of failure stop your forward motion. The promise is on the other side of obedience.
4. Psalm 34:4 – “I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
Narration: David testifies of God's rescue after crying out in desperation.
Exposition: Fear bows when prayer rises.
Interpretation: You don’t need louder strength—you need deeper surrender. Prayer delivers.
Motivation: Stop carrying what you should be casting. Seek Him, and fear will fall.
5. Romans 8:15 – “You have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear…”
Narration: Paul explains the difference between slavery to fear and sonship in the Spirit.
Exposition: Fear chains you. Sonship frees you.
Interpretation: You are not a slave to your past, trauma, or shame. You are a child of God, and children walk freely.
Motivation: Remind fear who your Father is. It has no legal right in your life.
6. Matthew 10:28 – “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul…”
Narration: Jesus prepares His disciples for persecution and difficult missions.
Exposition: Earthly threats must bow to eternal truths.
Interpretation: The fear of man is a trap. Your soul is secure in Christ—don’t lose your voice to please people.
Motivation: Speak up. Stand tall. Fear can’t touch what’s sealed in heaven.
7. 1 John 4:18 – “Perfect love casts out fear…”
Narration: John speaks of the completeness of God’s love for us.
Exposition: Fear is expelled—not coddled—by love.
Interpretation: The more you are rooted in God’s love, the less room fear has to grow.
Motivation: Grow deeper in love, and you’ll rise higher in confidence. His love is fearless.
Final Word: Let Courage Rise, Let Fear Fall
You were never meant to live under fear—you were designed to fly over it. Whether it’s fear of failure, rejection, sickness, or the unknown, know this: Fear is a liar, but God is faithful.
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” – Psalm 56:3
Believer, rise above it. Raise your voice. Face the storm. Step out of the boat. You are not alone, and you are not weak. You are empowered, equipped, and elevated by the Spirit of God. Fear bows where faith stands.
