Rise Above It – Volume 5: Rising Above Delay

By Pinnacle Message

“Delay is not denial—it’s divine preparation.”

Introduction

Every believer will encounter the wilderness of waiting. The delay between God’s promise and its fulfillment often tests our patience, faith, and perception of God’s faithfulness. But delay is not wasted time—it’s divine training ground. It shapes us before it gives to us. In this volume, we’ll rise above frustration and discover how waiting seasons produce strong, faith-filled believers who are ready when the promise arrives.

1. Habakkuk 2:3 – “Though it tarry, wait for it…”

Narration: God assures the prophet that His vision will come to pass, though not immediately.
Exposition: God’s timing is perfect, though it often stretches our expectations.
Interpretation: Delay is not inactivity—it's divine precision. What God is preparing for you, He’s also preparing in you.
Motivation: Don’t give up in the waiting room. Your appointed time is approaching.

2. Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage…”

Narration: David encourages the soul to be strengthened while waiting.
Exposition: Waiting requires courage, not passivity.
Interpretation: While you wait, God strengthens your heart, not just your hope.
Motivation: Wait with expectation—not despair. Courage grows in the silence.

3. Genesis 18:14 – “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

Narration: God responds to Sarah’s laughter over her delayed promise.
Exposition: Delay had made the promise feel impossible.
Interpretation: Human limitation doesn’t cancel divine ability. God delights in doing what’s beyond your timeline.
Motivation: Even if it’s late by man’s clock, it’s right on time with God.

4. John 11:6 – “He stayed two more days…”

Narration: Jesus delays coming to Lazarus—on purpose.
Exposition: Delay here was divine strategy, not forgetfulness.
Interpretation: God’s delay positioned the miracle for greater glory.
Motivation: Sometimes God waits so He can wow. Trust His purpose in the pause.

5. Exodus 13:17 – “God led them not through the way of the Philistines…”

Narration: God delays Israel’s journey to the Promised Land.
Exposition: The shortest route wasn’t the safest.
Interpretation: God delays to protect, prepare, and equip.
Motivation: The long way isn’t the wrong way if God is leading.

6. James 1:4 – “Let patience have her perfect work…”

Narration: James teaches that patience is spiritual development, not passive endurance.
Exposition: Waiting builds endurance, maturity, and depth.
Interpretation: Delay is your spiritual gym. Strength is forming beneath the surface.
Motivation: Don’t curse the process—it’s shaping the vessel for the blessing.

7. Galatians 6:9 – “In due season we shall reap…”

Narration: Paul encourages perseverance in the face of delay.
Exposition: “Due season” is God’s appointed harvest time.
Interpretation: Your sowing isn’t forgotten. Reaping is coming.
Motivation: Keep watering your faith. The season of manifestation will arrive.

Final Word: Be Still. Stay Ready. Rise.

Delay is not God punishing you—it’s Him preparing you. While you’re wondering when, God is working on what and how. Trust that what He promised, He will perform.

“He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.” – Hebrews 10:37

Believer, rise above it. Don’t wither in the waiting—worship in it. You are not forgotten. You are being formed.
