Vol. 7 — When God Opens the Eyes of the Heart
“And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see...”
— 2 Kings 6:17 (KJV)
Introduction:
The battle around us is not always visible. Often, what we fear is not what truly threatens us — and what protects us cannot be seen with natural eyes. In this final volume, we look at how God opens the spiritual eyes of His servants, revealing hidden protection, heavenly armies, and divine strategy. When God opens the eyes of your heart, you will no longer walk by fear — but by faith.
1. Elisha and the Invisible Army
“And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
— 2 Kings 6:17b (KJV)
Gehazi saw the enemy but couldn’t see God’s defense. Many believers today live in panic because they only see what’s physical. When God opens our eyes, we see that we are never alone.
2. We Walk by Faith, Not by Sight
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
Faith is spiritual sight. To walk by faith is to trust what God has said even when it doesn’t match what you see. Spiritual blindness causes us to depend on the physical. But prayer ignites faith, and faith sees the unseen.
3. The Eyes of the Lord Are Upon the Righteous
“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”
— Psalm 34:15 (KJV)
As we seek open eyes, we must also remember this: God’s eyes are already open to us. He watches, He sees, and He responds. Knowing that His eyes are on us gives us the courage to open ours.
4. Jesus Opened Their Understanding
“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.”
— Luke 24:45 (KJV)
It wasn’t intellect that opened the disciples’ minds. It was Jesus. Only He can truly make the Word come alive. Pray before reading Scripture. Ask Christ to remove the veil and flood your heart with understanding.
5. Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen and Yet Believe
“Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
— John 20:29 (KJV)
We don’t need to see angels or visions to walk in revelation. Sometimes, God opens our hearts more than our eyes. There’s a blessing for those who trust without physical confirmation — because their faith is pure.
6. Light in the Heart, Not Just the Mind
“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts...”
— 2 Corinthians 4:6 (KJV)
The heart is where spiritual light begins. We pray not for mental awareness only — but heart transformation. Once your heart sees, your whole life will follow the Light.
7. A Closing Prayer of Revelation
“Father, open the eyes of my heart. Let me see not as the world sees, but as You see. Remove fear by showing me Your presence. Lift every veil. Stir my faith. Give me understanding beyond logic. Help me walk not by emotion, but by revelation. Let the light of Christ shine in my soul. Open my eyes… that I may behold You.”
Conclusion:
Spiritual blindness is a chain — but revelation is a key. As this 7-part series closes, let us remember that our eyes were made to see God. Not physically — but deeply. The heart that sees God will never be moved by shadows again.
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
— Matthew 5:8 (KJV)
