God Is Greater Than the Beginning
By Pinnacle Message
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1
Before time began, before the first sunrise, and before the foundations of the earth were laid — God was. He is not just present at the beginning; He is greater than the beginning. The beginning is simply the moment God spoke. It is not the origin of God — it is the origin of everything else.
God stands outside time and space. He is not limited by history, science, or seasons. Everything we understand as “the beginning” is already under His feet, governed by His eternal authority. While the world marks time in eras and epochs, God exists in endless eternity — unchanging, all-powerful, and always present.
God’s Power Is Beyond All Origins
When the world was formless and void, God’s voice thundered across the chaos. By His word, light came. By His breath, life was born. No science or philosophy can fully trace Him because He preceded all knowledge.
“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
— Psalm 90:2
Every beginning — from creation to covenant, from promise to purpose — finds its origin in God. But God Himself has no starting point, no predecessor, no equal. His greatness stretches before the dawn of time and continues infinitely beyond it.
God’s Dominion Rules Over All
No power in heaven or on earth can rival His reign. Every ruler, every galaxy, and every heartbeat operates under His sovereign will.
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours.”
— 1 Chronicles 29:11
Even Satan’s rebellion, man’s fall, and the rise and fall of empires all happen within the boundaries of what God permits. His throne is not shaken by chaos. His plans are not threatened by time. He is seated above it all.
Christ: The Eternal Word Before Time
The greatest testimony to God being greater than the beginning is Christ Himself. Jesus is not merely a figure in history — He is the Word through whom history was written.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
— John 1:1
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
— Colossians 1:17
Before Bethlehem, before Abraham, before Adam — Christ existed. He is not subject to the beginning, for He is the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13). And through Him, we are connected not only to God’s past but to His eternal future.
What This Means for You
If God is greater than the beginning, then He is also greater than:
-
Your past.
-
Your pain.
-
Your fears about what comes next.
The same God who shaped the stars and separated seas is shaping your story with divine wisdom. You are not limited by how things started. With God, your end can be more glorious than your beginning.
“Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.”
— Job 8:7
A Call to Awe and Trust
Let us worship not only the God who begins all things but the God who exceeds the beginning. He is Alpha — yet not limited to Alpha. He is Omega — yet not bound to endings. He is Eternal — and He is yours.
When you surrender to God, you don’t just find a new beginning — you find the One who is greater than it all.
Pinnacle Message invites you to reflect on this greatness and walk boldly in faith, knowing that the One who was before all things is the same One who holds your future secure.
