Sunday Encounter #5 - Noah’s Ark: Faith That Stood the Test of Time

In the days of Noah, the earth was filled with corruption and violence. Humanity had drifted so far from righteousness that the heart of God was grieved. Yet, in the midst of chaos, one man found grace — Noah. The Lord said to him, “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood” (Genesis 6:14). Though the skies were clear and the rivers calm, Noah obeyed. While others mocked, he kept building, his hammer echoing faith amid unbelief.

Sunday Encounter - Bible Story The Seventy Disciples

There are moments in Scripture that reveal not only the power of God—but the heart of His mission. One of those moments unfolds in the Gospel of Luke 10, when Jesus appoints seventy disciples and sends them ahead into cities and villages. This was more than a journey. It was a divine commissioning. A sacred movement. A moment where heaven touched ordinary lives and transformed them into messengers of the Kingdom.

I will not turn away.

I trust You completely.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

SUNDAY ENCOUNTER — WEEK 1

Sunday Encounter is your weekly moment to pause, pray, and receive from God—wherever you are in the world.

“Resting in God’s Presence — The Strength You Didn’t Know You Needed”

There is a sacred invitation that comes every Sunday—a quiet call from heaven that says, “Come and rest.” In a world that constantly demands, pushes, and overwhelms, God offers something different: His presence.

The Bible reminds us in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” This is not just a suggestion—it is a command wrapped in love. To be still is to trust. To pause is to believe that God is still working even when we are not.

Many of us enter a new week already tired. The weight of responsibilities, expectations, and unseen battles can quietly drain the soul. But Sunday is not just another day—it is a divine reset. It is a moment to step out of the noise and step into God’s peace.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Notice the invitation: Come. He does not demand perfection. He does not require strength. He simply asks you to come as you are.

Narratively, imagine a soul wandering through a dry and restless land—searching, striving, and struggling. Then suddenly, it encounters a river—still, pure, and life-giving. That river is the presence of God. It does not rush. It does not force. It simply flows, inviting you to drink.

Exposition reveals that God’s rest is not just physical—it is spiritual. It is the kind of rest that quiets anxiety, restores clarity, and renews strength from within. Isaiah 40:31 declares, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” Waiting is not weakness—it is positioning yourself to receive divine renewal.

Interpretation teaches us that rest is an act of faith. When you pause, you are declaring: “God, I trust You with what I cannot control.” And in that surrender, something powerful happens—God begins to carry what was once weighing you down.

This Sunday, let go of the pressure to have everything figured out. Release the need to control every outcome. Step into the stillness of God’s presence and allow Him to breathe new life into your spirit.

Because sometimes, the greatest strength you can receive…
comes from simply resting in Him.

Sunday Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Today, I come before You—not in my strength, but in my surrender.
I lay down every burden, every worry, and every hidden weight at Your feet.

Lord, quiet my heart. Still my thoughts.
Help me to rest in Your presence and trust in Your perfect plan.

Where I am tired, renew me.
Where I am anxious, calm me.
Where I feel weak, strengthen me.

Teach me to wait on You without fear.
Teach me to trust You without doubt.

Let this Sunday be a reset for my soul—
a moment where I encounter Your peace in a deeper way.

I receive Your rest.
I receive Your presence.
I receive Your strength.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
