Guard What You’ve Received

By Pinnacle Message

(Vol. 7 – A Continuation of “RECEIVE IT TODAY”)

God never gives in vain. When He places a word in your heart, a calling on your life, or a truth in your spirit, He expects you to guard it—not with fear, but with faithful vigilance. The enemy is not after what you lost—he's after what you still carry. That treasure of truth, that flame of calling, that seed of purpose—it must be watched over, fed, and defended.

We are stewards of grace. What we have received from God is eternal, precious, and powerful. But it must not be neglected. Just like a garden needs tending, so does our faith. We are called to guard what we’ve received from compromise, distraction, doubt, and spiritual decay.

Bible Verses That Call Us to Guard What We've Been Given:

  1. 2 Timothy 1:14 (KJV)

“That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.”
Paul urges Timothy—and us—to keep what God has entrusted. The Holy Spirit is our helper in preserving the sacred.

  1. Proverbs 4:23

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Your heart is the vault of God’s purpose. Guard it with diligence, because the life you live flows from what you’ve stored within.

  1. 1 Timothy 6:20

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings...”
Don’t trade truth for trends. The sacred should never be sold for the popular.

  1. Jude 1:3

“...that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
Faith isn’t just something to have—it’s something to defend. Contend for it. Fight to keep it alive.

  1. John 17:12 (Jesus speaking)

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name...”
If Jesus Himself guarded the souls entrusted to Him, we too must keep what the Father gives with care and devotion.

  1. Hebrews 2:1

“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.”
Don’t let it slip. What God whispered in the quiet moments—hold onto it. The world will try to drown it out.

  1. Revelation 3:11

“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”
There is a reward in keeping what you’ve received. Don’t let distractions or delay rob you of it.

Encouragement for the Journey:

Child of God, what you carry is holy. The purpose on your life is heaven-born. Guard it. Nurture it. Let nothing casual touch what God has called consecrated. When doubt knocks, trust God deeper. When trials come, let them strengthen your grip.

You are the keeper of a kingdom seed. Protect it in prayer. Feed it in the Word. Walk with the Spirit, and trust that the God who gave it to you will help you keep it.

You’ve received it. You’ve walked in it. You’ve stood in it.
Now guard it—until the day He calls you home.
