Vol. 6 — The Watchman’s Vision

“Son of man, I have made thee a watchman… therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.”
Ezekiel 3:17 (KJV)

Introduction:

God raises up watchmen — spiritual seers placed on the wall to discern, warn, and pray. But what happens when the watchman is blind? What happens when those tasked with spiritual oversight can no longer see? In this volume, we expose the danger of blind spiritual leadership, the burden of discernment, and the urgent need to restore vision through prayer.

1. The Blind Watchmen

Isaiah condemned spiritual leaders who failed to see.

“His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark…”
Isaiah 56:10 (KJV)

These watchmen were asleep on duty — unaware, unbothered, and unable to speak truth. A blind watchman leaves the city vulnerable. The Church must pray for leaders to have clear sight and bold voices.

2. The Role of the Spiritual Watchman

“If the watchman see the sword come… and blow not the trumpet… his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
Ezekiel 33:6 (KJV)

Discernment is a responsibility. A true watchman doesn’t just see trouble — he sounds the alarm. In times of spiritual crisis, we must pray for bold discerners who are not afraid to call out danger or deception.

3. God’s Search for a Seer

“I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge… but I found none.”
Ezekiel 22:30 (KJV)

God searches for intercessors, spiritual gap-standers with eyes open. When He finds none, judgment falls. The time is urgent. The Church must raise up prophetic voices that see clearly and pray fervently.

4. Visions Restored Through Humility

“I counsel thee to anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
Revelation 3:18 (KJV)

The Laodicean church thought they had it all — but they were blind. Jesus offered spiritual eyesalve, symbolic of repentance, humility, and Holy Spirit cleansing. Vision is restored when pride is surrendered.

5. Night Watch Prayer Brings Light

“In the night I remember your name, O Lord, and I will keep your law.”
Psalm 119:55 (KJV)

Watchmen pray in the night. They intercede when others sleep. When we engage in prayer during life’s darkest hours, the light of discernment increases, and our spiritual hearing sharpens.

6. The Spirit of Counsel and Sight

“And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him… the spirit of counsel and might… and of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord.”
Isaiah 11:2-3 (KJV)

This spirit rested on Jesus — and now rests on those filled with the Spirit. Discernment, counsel, and quick spiritual understanding are given through intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for it.

7. A Prayer for Watchmen Eyes

“Lord, raise up spiritual watchmen again. Restore sight to the blind prophets, discernment to the leaders, and vigilance to the Church. Let us not sleep while danger approaches. Give us eyes that see afar off, ears that hear Your Word, and mouths that trumpet truth without fear. Anoint our eyes with Holy Ghost fire. Let us stand on the walls of prayer, awake and alert. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Conclusion:

The Church doesn’t just need pastors — it needs watchmen. Eyes that see the enemy coming. Ears that hear heaven. Voices that cry out. And knees that bow. Let us pray with fire, that no gate is left unwatched, and no soul left unguarded.

“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night…”
