Divine Protection – Volume 5: In the Shadow of the Almighty
By Pinnacle Message
Key Verse:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
— Psalm 91:1 (NKJV)
Narration:
There is a place that not many find—hidden, sacred, and safe. It’s not built by human hands, yet it shelters like the strongest fortress. David called it the “secret place.” It is not a physical location, but a spiritual dwelling—the very presence of God. And from this secret place flows the deepest protection a believer can receive.
Exposition:
To abide under God’s shadow means you live under His nearness, His covering, and His constant awareness of you. Shadows only fall close to the object that casts them—meaning, you are never far from the Lord when you dwell in Him.
The shadow of the Almighty is a place where terror cannot reach, arrows cannot strike, and fear cannot root. This is the divine shelter where peace overshadows panic.
Supporting Scriptures:
-
Psalm 91:2 – “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’”
-
Psalm 17:8 – “Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings...”
-
Isaiah 4:6 – “It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.”
-
Ruth 2:12 – “...under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
-
Deuteronomy 32:11 – “Like an eagle that stirs up its nest... spreading out its wings, catching them...”
-
Psalm 36:7 – “...people take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
-
Matthew 23:37 – “...how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings...”
Interpretation & Preaching:
Divine protection is not a momentary shield—it is a lifestyle of abiding. The secret place is accessed through intimacy, prayer, worship, and holiness. It’s not about running to God only in trouble but learning to live in His presence continuously.
When you abide in the shadow, you are positioned beyond the reach of spiritual threats. Storms may rage, but the secret place remains still.
Declare today:
I dwell in the secret place of the Most High.
I abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I am covered, not just visited.
Call to Reflection:
Do not wait for calamity to seek the secret place. Live there. Love it. Linger in it. The Almighty does not just visit those who cry out—He keeps those who abide.
Let your soul find shelter today beneath the wings of divine mercy. You are hidden. You are safe. You are protected in the presence.
