“Sheltered Under His Mighty Wings”
Blog – God’s Protection:
Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself as a shelter for His children. Life often brings storms—fear, sickness, trials, and uncertainty—but believers are never left uncovered. The Lord spreads His wings of mercy and guards those who trust Him.
The Psalmist declares, “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust” (Psalm 91:4). This imagery reveals a loving Father who protects like a bird shielding her young. Protection is not earned; it is received through faith.
Proverbs 18:10 teaches, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” God’s name is not just a word; it is power, authority, and refuge. When we call on Him, He answers.
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us not to fear because God upholds us with His righteous hand. Even when dangers surround us, His presence stands between us and harm.
Psalm 34:7 assures us, “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” Protection is both spiritual and physical. Heaven’s armies are assigned to believers.
David proclaimed in Psalm 121:7, “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil.” This does not mean trouble never comes, but that evil will never destroy God’s purpose for our lives.
Jesus Himself prayed for divine covering: “Keep them from the evil one” (John 17:15). If Christ prayed for protection, how much more should we trust it?
Finally, 2 Thessalonians 3:3 promises, “The Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” God’s protection is faithful and unchanging.
Interpretation & Encouragement
Protection is a covenant promise. No matter the attack, God remains our shield. Believers must live boldly, knowing heaven guards them.
