Theme: Walking Boldly Into What God Has Prepared
Monday — Wisdom
When God Gives You the Courage to Move Forward
Scripture Anchor: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged…” — Joshua 1:9
There comes a moment when prayer must become movement.
You have waited. You have listened. You have asked God for direction. Perhaps you have even watched certain doors close while others slowly began to open. But eventually, faith brings us to a place where God says, “Now, move forward.”
Joshua knew this moment well.
For years, he had followed Moses. He had witnessed miracles, walked through the wilderness, and learned what it meant to trust God. But when Moses died, Joshua could no longer remain a follower. God was calling him to lead Israel into the Promised Land.
The assignment was greater than Joshua’s experience, but it was not greater than God’s presence.
God told him, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5).
That was the source of Joshua’s courage.
Biblical courage does not mean that you never feel afraid. It means you trust God enough to obey Him even when fear is present.
Sometimes we ask God to remove every uncertainty before we take the next step. But faith often works differently. God gives us enough light for the step before us and asks us to trust Him with the road beyond it.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).
A lamp does not necessarily illuminate the entire journey. It gives enough light to keep walking.
Perhaps God is calling you into something new—a ministry, an opportunity, a responsibility, a season of rebuilding, or simply a deeper level of obedience. Do not allow yesterday's disappointments to convince you that tomorrow's doors will remain closed.
Remember Abraham. God told him, “Go from your country…to the land I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). Abraham did not receive the entire map. He received a command and a promise.
And he moved.
There are seasons for waiting, but there are also seasons for walking.
Isaiah declares, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’” (Isaiah 30:21).
When God directs your steps, you do not have to know everything that lies ahead.
You only need to know Who is walking with you.
Deeper Reflection
Ask yourself today:
What step have I been afraid to take even though God has been preparing my heart to move forward?
Do not let fear become the gatekeeper of your future.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
The God who called you will accompany you.
The God who opened the door will strengthen you.
The God who prepared the road will guide your feet.
Walk forward. God is already there.
