Friday — Prayer & Power
The Prayer That Gives God Your Next Chapter
Scripture Anchor: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.” — Psalm 37:5
There is something powerful about placing your future into God's hands.
We often surrender our past because we cannot change it. We surrender our present because we need God's help. Yet sometimes the most difficult thing to surrender is our future.
We want to know what will happen.
Where will this road lead?
Will the opportunity succeed?
Will the prayer be answered?
Will everything work out?
But Scripture gives us a better way to live:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
Faith does not require you to understand tomorrow.
Faith invites you to trust the God who already stands there.
Jesus taught us not to become consumed with tomorrow, saying, “Do not worry about tomorrow” (Matthew 6:34).
Why?
Because tomorrow belongs to God.
Your next chapter may contain opportunities you cannot yet imagine, people you have not yet met, doors you have not yet seen, and blessings you could never have planned.
Jeremiah reminds us that God declared, “For I know the plans I have for you” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Notice who knows the plans.
God does.
You do not have to carry the burden of knowing everything.
You simply have to remain faithful to the One who does.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I place my next chapter into Your hands.
I surrender every plan, every expectation, every unanswered question, and every uncertainty about tomorrow.
Where I am afraid, give me courage.
Where I am confused, give me wisdom.
Where I am weak, give me strength.
Where I am impatient, teach me to trust Your timing.
Lord, close every door that would lead me away from Your purpose, and open every door that aligns with Your will.
Direct my steps according to Your Word.
Your Word declares, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
So establish my steps.
Go before me.
Prepare the road.
Order my decisions.
Protect me from distractions that look like opportunities but are not Your assignment for my life.
And when You say move, give me the faith to move.
When You say wait, give me the grace to wait.
When You say trust, give me the courage to release everything into Your hands.
I believe that “He who began a good work” in me will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).
My future belongs to You.
My purpose belongs to You.
My next chapter belongs to You.
And wherever You lead me, I will follow.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pinnacle Thought for the Week
You don't need to see the entire road when you know the One who is leading you. Walk boldly into what God has prepared—His presence is already waiting in your tomorrow.
