When God Asks You to Trust What You Cannot Yet See

2 Corinthians 5:7 — “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
There are moments in our journey when God does not show us the entire road. He gives us enough light for the next step, but not enough to see the whole destination.
And that is where faith begins.
We often want God to explain everything before we move. We want confirmation, certainty, evidence, and a detailed picture of what lies ahead. But God sometimes says, “Trust Me before you understand Me.”
Abraham experienced this when God called him to leave his country and go to a land that God would show him. Hebrews 11:8 tells us that Abraham obeyed and went, “not knowing whither he went.”
He did not have a map.
He had a promise.
And sometimes, a promise from God is all you need.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
God sees what you cannot see. He knows the doors that will open, the people you will meet, the opportunities that will appear, and even the challenges that will strengthen you.
What looks uncertain to you is already known to God.
Think about the Israelites standing before the Red Sea. Behind them was Pharaoh's army. Before them was an impossible body of water. Yet Moses declared in Exodus 14:13, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.”
The sea had not opened yet.
But God already had a way.
Perhaps you are standing before something today that has not opened yet. Do not assume that because you cannot see the road, there is no road.
God may be preparing the way before you.
Isaiah 43:19 declares, “Behold, I will do a new thing... I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Faith does not require you to know everything that comes next.
Faith requires you to know Who goes with you.
So take the next step.
Pray the next prayer.
Obey the next instruction.
Walk through the door God opens.
You do not need tomorrow's answers to obey God today.
Reflection
What step of faith might God be asking you to take even though you cannot yet see the outcome?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to trust You when I cannot see what comes next. Quiet the fear that demands every answer before I move. Give me wisdom to recognize Your direction and courage to follow You one step at a time. I believe that You are already ahead of me, preparing the way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
