FRIDAY — PRAYER & POWER
The Prayer That Places the Unknown Into God's Hands
Scripture Anchor
Psalm 37:5 — “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
There is something deeply freeing about surrender.
We spend so much energy trying to control tomorrow—planning possibilities, anticipating problems, replaying uncertainties, and wondering what might happen next.
But Jesus gives us another way.
Matthew 6:34 teaches us not to become consumed with tomorrow.
Why?
Because tomorrow already belongs to God.
There comes a moment when prayer must move beyond asking God for what we want and become the place where we say:
“Father, I place what I cannot control into Your hands.”
David understood this. Psalm 31:15 declares, “My times are in thy hand.”
Your future is in His hands.
Your family is in His hands.
Your calling is in His hands.
The doors you are waiting for are in His hands.
The answers you have not yet received are in His hands.
And the God holding your tomorrow is the same God who has carried you through every yesterday.
Philippians 4:6–7 tells us to bring everything to God through prayer and thanksgiving, and then promises that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Prayer may not immediately reveal tomorrow.
But prayer can give you peace today.
So before this week ends, release what you have been carrying.
You were never meant to carry tomorrow before tomorrow arrives.
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Place the unknown into God's hands.
Then walk forward knowing this:
Whatever tomorrow brings, God will already be there.
Prayer of Surrender
Heavenly Father, today I place every unknown into Your hands.
I surrender the things I understand and the things I do not.
I surrender my plans, my questions, my expectations, my fears, and my future.
Go before me, Lord.
Open the doors that belong in my journey and close the doors that would lead me away from Your purpose.
Give me wisdom when decisions come, strength when challenges arise, and peace when answers are delayed.
I declare that my future is not controlled by fear.
My future belongs to God.
Lead me into everything You have prepared for me.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen.
