When God Makes a Way Where There Seems to Be No Way
Your Weekly Moment with God That Changes Everything
Scripture Anchor:
Isaiah 43:19 — “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
There are moments in life when every road seems closed.
You have prayed. You have waited. You have searched for an answer. Yet nothing appears to be changing. The door remains shut. The situation still looks impossible, and you cannot see how God could possibly bring you from where you are to where He has promised.
But Scripture reminds us of something powerful:
God does not need an existing road to lead you forward. He can create one.
When Israel Faced the Impossible
In Exodus 14, the children of Israel found themselves trapped between Pharaoh's army and the Red Sea.
Behind them was an enemy.
Before them was an impossible sea.
Around them was fear.
But above them was God.
Moses declared:
“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD.” — Exodus 14:13
Then something extraordinary happened. God opened a pathway through the very obstacle that seemed to block their future.
The Red Sea did not disappear.
God made a way through it.
Sometimes we ask God to remove the difficulty, while God intends to demonstrate His power by carrying us through it.
God Can See What You Cannot
You may be looking at your circumstances today and thinking, There is no way forward.
But your vision is limited to what you can see.
God sees beyond today.
Proverbs 3:5–6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not depend entirely upon our own understanding. When we acknowledge Him, He directs our paths.
You do not have to understand the entire journey to take the next step.
You only need to trust the One who already knows the destination.
The Wilderness Is Not the End
God says in Isaiah 43:19, “I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”
Notice where God promises to work.
In the wilderness.
In the desert.
In the places where resources seem scarce and possibilities appear limited.
The wilderness may look empty to you, but it is not empty of God.
The desert may look dry, but God can cause rivers to flow through it.
Your present circumstances do not determine the limits of God's possibilities.
Keep Walking by Faith
Perhaps you are waiting for an answer concerning your family, ministry, future, finances, purpose, or a dream God placed within your heart.
Do not allow what you cannot see to convince you that God is not working.
2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Faith says, “I cannot see the road yet, but I know the One who makes roads.”
Faith says, “I do not know how this will happen, but I know God is faithful.”
Faith says, “This obstacle will not have the final word.”
And Psalm 37:23 reminds us that the steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord.
Your Sunday Encounter
Today, bring that impossible situation before God again.
Not with fear.
Not with defeat.
But with expectation.
The same God who opened the Red Sea is still God.
The same God who brought water from the rock is still God.
The same God who opened prison doors, healed the sick, restored the broken, and raised Jesus Christ from the dead is still working today.
What looks like a dead end may simply be the place where God is about to reveal a road you could not see before.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I place before You every situation in my life where I cannot see the way forward.
When fear tells me there is no way, remind me that You are the God who creates pathways in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Give me faith when I cannot see, courage when I do not understand, and strength to keep walking when the journey feels uncertain.
Go before me, Lord.
Open the doors that belong in Your purpose. Close the paths that would lead me away from Your will. Direct my steps and teach me to trust Your timing.
Where I see impossibility, help me see an opportunity for Your power to be revealed.
I believe You are working.
I believe You are leading.
And I believe that when I cannot find a way, You can make one.
